A few months ago when I went to Type-A Con, I had the privilege of hearing Rene Syler speak about her choice to have a double mastectomy, being fired from her dream job, and her version of marriage and motherhood. She was inspiring, brave, and hilarious. At the end of her speech, she ran around the entire room in a victory lap, doling out high fives and reminding us all that we have the power and responsibility to utilize our gifts and talents.
I loved that. Since then I’ve been doing a victory lap around my house at least once a day, just to keep myself focused.
I accosted ran into her again at BlogHer12 at the Sparklecorn party. I told her about how much I had thought about her message that I may or may not be slightly obsessed with her.

Even though she knows I twitter stalk her a little bit, she was still willing to take a picture with me. Told you she is brave.
So today I’m honored today to be featured on Rene’s site, Good Enough Mother, where I’m spewing wit and wisdom all over the place. Thank you, Rene, for sharing your story and for allowing me to do the same through you. And for telling your security detail that I’m merely a harmless fangirl.

Isn’t Rene the sweetest, approachable and beautiful lady that you have ever met?! Love her :)

Thank you so much, Mike!
<3 me some Rene!
ME TOO!
A victory lap! I am so doing this at work today. Glad you get to interact with someone who inspires you!
I think I’m just going to start doing them everywhere I go. The grocery store, the preschool, the Diaper Genie…everywhere.
