I’ve been called a lot of things. Some nicer than others. Some more true than others. But if someone ever called me “crafty,” I’d know they were not my friend. Because crafty I am not.
I’m okay with not being crafty in a world craft loving moms. But there are times when I wonder if shoving the kids in front of the TV again while I’m perusing the latest celebrity gossip, assessing the validity of my daily horoscope, working on my novel is a great idea. You see, I’m not one of those crafty or Pinteresty mamas. It’s not that I mind doing the crafts or spending time with my kids, it’s just that the creative part of me would much rather do things like sleep or stab myself in the eye than actually think of an activity, then shop and prepare for it. It seems that the gnat-like attention spans the Wee Frat Boys currently harbor don’t really appreciate the time and effort it takes to pull all of that together. And that makes me say bad words.
So, when I was presented with the opportunity to try out a BabbaBox, I got really excited. They send a monthly themed activity box geared toward your child’s age group to your home. Everything is labeled neatly and divided into separate bags with clear and concise instructions, along with all of the supplies you need. It’s genius and easy, whether you fall into the “crafty” or the “less crafty” category.

FBTE with one of the completed BabbaBox projects. It’s his favorite, because he made a “farmer constellation” with the stars and Sun Paper. Also, someone get this ragamuffin kid a haircut.
Frat Boy The Elder loved it. This month’s theme was Outer Space, which was perfect, since he has been learning about the solar system at school and has a new interest in aliens to add to his bevy of zombie, ghost, and theological questions he’s been asking of late. We’re still working on the rest of the projects, which I’m happy to have waiting for us to finish during Christmas break.
And now this info (and a coupon code!) from BabbaBox:
