One thing I never thought I would enjoy when I became a parent was the live kid shows. No one was more shocked than I when I found them to be enjoyable and entertaining. My favorite show so far was “Toy Story on Ice” a few years ago. Who knew it was going to be that impressive?
Because I’m a big fan of dorky white guys playing college-like rock, I would have loved seeing the Imagination Movers live if Frat Boy The Elder hadn’t puked on our way there, forcing us to miss the show. He had been out late partying the night before. So unprofessional.
I’m still bummed about that. He had his own Mover jumpsuit I bought for him on etsy. He was going to be that guy. The one who wears the band t-shirt to the concert. Now he’s outgrown it. Bygones.
After watching the behind the scenes videos for the Super Why Live tour, I got really excited. I’m looking forward to seeing how they bring the Super Why characters to life. The music was written by Jack Antonoff of the band fun., and since I like “We Are Young” so much, I’m betting the music for this show is going to be smart and anthemic as well.
The show is stopping in Raleigh on Tuesday, July 24th, and Super Why Live and Southern Spark are offering four tickets to see it. Even if you aren’t local to Raleigh, consider taking a train ride there and hitting Marbles Children’s Museum while you are there. It is one of the best children’s museums I’ve ever visited.

Well, I hate to say this, since you ended up having to miss it, but actually, the Movers show we took our girls to see a few years ago was pretty good. Lots of inside jokes for the adults, good music, and we got to meet Rich — the seats just in front of us remained empty throughout the show and he came down into the audience, sat in those seats, and chatted with us. My girls were in awe — I don’t think they even danced in the aisles the way the other kids did — just stared with their mouths open the whole time!
